Steve Kerr to return coaching for Game 2

After missing a game since April 19, Steve Kerr is returning as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors for the Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In his press briefing, Kerr said that he was going to give a try and that he intended to coach the rest of the NBA Finals.

“The last couple weeks have been good in terms of running practice, film sessions, coaches’ meetings,” he said. “I wanted to string together a few good days. I did that, and I’m feeling well enough to coach, so I’ll be out there tonight.”

Assistant coach Mike Brown took the job as the acting coach in Kerr’s absence and led the team to 11-0 record in the playoff.

“I’m excited and it’s good to be back,” Kerr said. “And my guys did OK while I was gone.”

Kerr took the Warriors into another level when he installed the offensive system intended to speed up the game. Since then, Kerr had brought the team into three consecutive Finals appearances.
