Marinong Pilipino drowns AMA in the PBA D-League

Marinong Pilipino defeated AMA Online Education, 125-71, in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena.

Mark Isip was instrumental in the second quarter breakaway as he scored 11 of his 15 points for the Skippers to take a 64-39 lead at the half. Isip finished also with three rebounds and three assists. Julian Sargen had 20 points, half of those were scored in the third quarter the helped the team to post a whopping 56-point lead, 121-65.

Marinong Filipino ended the eliminations with a 6-4 record, winning their last five games.

“This is a good win for us going to the playoffs, but I always remind the players that the playoffs is a different animal and it’s a good thing that we have veterans who’ve been there before,” said coach Koy Banal.

Meanwhile, the Tanduay Rhum Masters outplayed the Racal Motors, 81-72, to have an 8-2 record. Von Tambeling scored 12 points for the Rhum Masters.
