Brook Lopez in Manila, says he loves “halo-halo”

New Jersey Nets star arrived in Manila Monday as the NBA ambassador in having a partnership between the league and insurance company AXA Philippines.

Though it the second time for Lopez to be in the Philippines, it is the first time for him to eat halo-halo for breakfast.

“It was my first time eating it and I got everything in it, all the toppings,” said Lopez“It was a lot. It was so good and I love the yam especially.”

Lopez said the country’s love of basketball eaily helped him understand why his former Nets teammate, Andray Blatche, has been so popular in the Philippines. Blatche joined the Philippine basketball team after leaving the Nets. Blatche has catapulted Philippine basketball team since then.

“Playing on the same team with him, he’s such an amazing talent. He made things easier for me and he’s just a great person to be around,” Lopez said.
